AI has seen remarkable progress in recent years, with text to image generation being a particular area of interest. Toronto-based AI startup Ideogram has just unveiled its platform, making its mark in the competitive landscape of generative text-to-image technology.
Major names in this field include DALL-E, Midjourney and Adobe Firefly. These platforms have set a high standard for generating images from text prompts and have been widely recognized for their contribution to AI-driven creativity.
Ideogram is led by a team of industry veterans with extensive experience in AI projects from reputed organizations. The team emphasizes Ideogram’s mission to democratize creativity through AI while maintaining high standards for trust and security.
Ideogram offers the same functions as its established counterparts. Users can convert text prompts to images by signing up with their Google email addresses. Once registered, they can input prompts and choose from various rendering styles to generate images such as anime, dark fantasy or graffiti. The platform provides options for three resolutions and four results based on the input prompt and style selected. Users can customize their generated images by remixing them and adding or removing prompts and techniques.
A notable feature of Ideogram is its ability to generate letters, setting it apart from text-to-image tools like Midjourney and DALL-E. While this requires several attempts to achieve, users can at least expect a satisfactory result. Remixing the selected result can easily produce more accurate spelled results. However, like its competitors, Ideogram has imperfections. Users may experience strange hand and face rendering, unrealistic lines and colors, and occasional spelling errors.
