Cathay Pacific goes daily from Perth to Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific has commenced daily flights between Perth and Hong Kong, demonstrating increased confidence as the frequency has risen from three to six times a week in under two months. The CX140 departs Perth at 12:10, landing in Hong Kong at 7:45; the return flight, CX171, leaves Hong Kong at 3:10 pm on six days, reaching Perth at 10:50 pm.

The Boeing 777 features 59 flat-bed business class seats along with premium economy recliners, catering to passengers for an eight-hour journey.

Departing from Perth Terminal 1, which currently lacks an international oneworld lounge, Business Class passengers can access the independent Aspire Lounge, situated between Gates 53 and 54 on Level 3.

In Hong Kong, business class passengers and frequent flyers enjoy access to Cathay’s five Hong Kong lounges, including The Wing First (featuring Private Cabana Suites), The Wing Business, Pier First, Pier Business, and The Deck.

Kate Holsgrove, Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer at Perth Airport, views this growth as a significant advancement for Western Australia’s aviation sector.

“Cathay Pacific has been a valued airline partner for more than 50 years, and we are delighted that the airline is dedicated to linking Perth and Western Australia to Hong Kong and beyond,” states Holsgrove.

This ‘beyond’ encompasses the Greater Bay Area, where Cathay Pacific recently unveiled its new Shekou Port Lounge, facilitating the transit of passengers from mainland China to Hong Kong International Airport.

Beyond being a gateway to Hong Kong, Cathay’s extensive international network positions it as a preferred choice for onward flights to Asia, Europe, the UK, and the opportunity to break the journey in the bustling Asian metropolis.
